FEMALE YOUTH VOLUNTEER UNIFORM
Presented by President Ho Chi Minh to Hoang Thi Minh Khai in 1965.
In 1965, President Ho Chi Minh personally listened to reports from the Central Youth Union about the organization and situation of male and female youth participating in the volunteer force. To encourage female youth volunteers, he sent uniforms as gifts to the women working on road construction in the Vinh Linh-Quang Binh battlefield.
Hoang Thi Minh Khai, a cadre at the Binh Tri Thien Party School in 1988, was a youth volunteer at the time and was honored to receive a set of clothes from Uncle Ho’s gift. Instead of wearing it, she carefully preserved the uniform as a keepsake from that moment onward until she donated it to the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Binh Tri Thien (now the Ho Chi Minh Museum in Thua Thien Hue) in 1988.
